Arlissa Vaughn is a professionally trained fine artist exhibiting in galleries nationwide and creating custom artworks for collectors worldwide. She is known for her use of rich textures, delicately layered colors, and symbolic imagery.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from East Carolina University's School of Art & Design, class of '05. Since that time, Arlissa has also been artist-in-residence with the Hungarian Multicultural Center and the Art Students League at Vytlacil.
For the past several years, she has taken an interest in painting at live events. She began first painting live at an art festival in Huntington Beach, CA in 2010 where she discovered the ease and enjoyment of allowing the public to watch her work.
She was next invited to paint for an 8-week series at a church in Costa Mesa, CA and that's where her love for live painting really flourished. She was amazed how many people came up after services to express their appreciation for her work and explain how seeing the painting really helped their understanding of the sermon.
Arlissa now paints live at events across the USA including weddings, conferences, fundraisers, anniversary dinners, sporting competitions, and private parties. She is also available to paint portraits and other commissioned artworks in her studio. Her medium of choice is acrylic paint on canvas, an excellent paint for use in public settings due to its low toxicity and quick drying
She has lived in many locations throughout the United States, but has plans to return to her beloved Southeast in Summer 2013 (exact location TBA.).
